Can I have the vaccination if I am Pregnant, Planning a Pregnancy or Breastfeeding?

The JCVI updated their advice on 16 April 2021 and are now advising that all pregnant women should be offered the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time as the rest of the population, in line with the age group roll out.

Speak to a healthcare professional before you have the vaccination. They will discuss the benefits and risks of the COVID-19 vaccine with you.

  • You can have the COVID-19 vaccine if you’re breastfeeding.
  • You do not need to avoid pregnancy after vaccination.
  • The vaccine cannot give you or your baby COVID-19.

Please read this leaflet from Public Health England before having your vaccine.
