The JCVI updated their advice on 16 April 2021 and are now advising that all pregnant women should be offered the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time as the rest of the population, in line with the age group roll out.
Speak to a healthcare professional before you have the vaccination. They will discuss the benefits and risks of the COVID-19 vaccine with you.
You may also find this information sheet published by the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists useful.
You can have the COVID-19 vaccine if you’re breastfeeding.
You do not need to avoid pregnancy after vaccination. The vaccine cannot give you or your baby COVID-19.
