The HPV vaccine helps protect against a common virus called human papillomavirus (HPV), which can cause certain cancers and genital warts. Most people will come into contact with HPV at some point, but vaccination helps your body build protection before you’re exposed to the virus.
The HPV vaccine is part of the national NHS vaccination programme and offers long-term protection against several types of HPV that can lead to cancer later in life.
• All children aged 12 to 13
• All girls under the age of 25*
• Boys born on or after 1st September 2006*
• Men aged 45 or under who have sex with men
*This is a catch-up offer if the vaccine was missed
Where can you get the HPV Vaccine
You can get your HPV Vaccine through:
• your school vaccination service (those 12 to 13)
• your GP surgery (those eligible under the catch-up offer, Girls under 25 and Boys born on or after 1st September 2006)
• a sexual health or HIV clinic (Men aged 45 or under who have sex with men)
If you can have the HPV vaccine, you do not need to wait for an invite. Please contact us to book.
Invites will still be sent by email, letter, or text to those eligible. These will include booking instructions.
When not to attend / Cancelling an appointment
Do not attend your appointment if you are feeling unwell. Call 01273 480888 and select Option 2 to cancel.
