From June, you may hear on the news that GPs can give weight loss injections like Mounjaro.

This is true, but very few people will qualify. The rules are strict, and not many patients will meet them.

At Foundry Healthcare, we care for over 28,000 people. We think fewer than 20 of our patients will be eligible. Some of these patients already use Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes.

We will be in contact with those patients that meet the criteria, please bear with us as we await further information regarding this commissioned service.

You may be eligible if:

Your BMI is over 40 (You can check this online if you know your height and weight)

And

You have at least 4 of these 5 health conditions:

• High blood pressure (and take medicine for it)
• Type 2 diabetes
• Heart disease, stroke, or other circulation problems
• High cholesterol
• Sleep apnoea (diagnosed at a sleep clinic)

If you don’t meet all of these rules, your GP cannot prescribe Mounjaro for weight loss.

Please do not book an appointment about Mounjaro if you are not sure you qualify. This helps us keep appointments open for people who really need them.
