Patients eligible for the Shingles Vaccine include:

• Persons turning 65 years old – you’ll be eligible from your 65th birthday.
• Persons aged 70 - 79 years
• Persons aged 50 years and over with a severely weakened immune system (severely immunocompromised)
• Patients receiving a stem cell transplant may be eligible at a younger age. Speak to your specialist

There are 2 types of shingles vaccine given in the UK:

• Shingrix vaccine patient leaflet (Electronic Medicines Compendium website; PDF only, 136KB) – given as 2 doses
• Zostavax vaccine patient leaflet (Electronic Medicines Compendium website) – given as 1 dose

Invitation to book will be sent to patients as they become eligible. Contact us if you are between 75 - 79 and believe you are eligible, but have not yet received invitation.

If you have mobility issues we may be able to offer a ‘drive through’ vaccination appointment. Please speak to a receptionist if you believe you need a ‘drive through’ appointment.

Arrangements will be made for housebound patients.
